If you are a doctoral candidate* at an institution in the U.S., I would so appreciate your participation in my survey on doctoral candidate connectedness and social media use. The study examines doctoral candidates’ use of social media with peers and faculty, and also examines whether social media use influences sense of connectedness. The survey should take approximately 15-20 minutes, and I would be so grateful for your participation. The survey is available at: https://bit.ly/KEV2021doc.

Education forDemocracy in Early Childhood:

Recognizing YoungChildren as Citizens

Since its inception in the early 19thcentury, early childhood education (ECE) has been understood as an importantsite for the cultivation of competent citizens of democratic society. Indeed, scholarly work extollingthe promise of ECE as a wellspring for the dispositions and knowledge requisiteto an engaged citizenry abounds. Harder to find, though, is empirical researchexamining how early childhood education for democratic citizenship might bestbe done. Traditionally, citizenship education in early childhood has been thepurview of social studies, and the limited research base

As the 21st-century global society continues to reveal new challenges and
expose old systemic issues for students, parents, policymakers, and

historical, theoretical, and practitioner perspective on urban education,

I hired Kathy after proposing and because of her over 20 yrs experience she was able to speed the process up considerably and has been an invaluable resource. She has stayed with me throughout the process even past my graduation date.
