Tenure-track position in faculty development and continuing professional
development

Department of Medical Education, University of Illinois at Chicago, 

 

 

The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Department of Medical
Education [(DME) formerly the Center for Educational Development]
invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in faculty
development and continuing professional development, encompassing all
the roles of a faculty member.  

 

The ideal candidate for this Assistant/Associate Professor position will
be a mid-career individual with demonstrated scholarship in teaching and
learning, instructional methods, and faculty and continuing professional
development.  Demonstrated expertise in designing and conducting faculty
development programs is expected; experience teaching physicians and
other health professionals is desirable.  MD, PhD, or EdD degree is
required.

 

This academic position carries responsibilities in three areas:
research, teaching, and service.  Research and service activities will
vary with the specific interests of the applicant.  The individual in
this position will collaborate with other DME faculty to conduct faculty
and continuing professional development activities and programs, such as
the Faculty Development Fellowship and the Residents as Teachers
program. DME faculty members are also expected to teach in the
department's Master of Health Professions Education [MHPE] program.  For
example, the current incumbent co-teaches the core course "Instruction
and Assessment" and offers electives in instructional methods, faculty
development and continuing professional development, and CME.
