It is my sad duty to pass on the news that Dr Barbara Stone,
long time member of AERA, passed away on July 26, 2001.

Barabra was a fine teacher and a gifted scholar, who touched
the lives of many people.

She was born October 11, 1949 and is survived by her two
sons, Jonathon, 18 and Matthew, 19, her father (Robert
Stone), sister (Judy Stone-Goldman) and her loving aunts,
uncles, and cousins

Barbara had a keen curiosity about the world and the people
in it and a broad and sympathetic outlook. She had a lifelong
love of travel, books, and social justice and was described
by many as "a free spirit", who was also well known for her
strong opinions.

She was passionate about life as a Jewish woman, spiritually
and culturally, and devoted to preserving family history.

Her friendship, her passion and her vibrant spirit will be
sadly missed.
