Project Director/ Assistant Director
The Program Evaluation and Research Branch of the Los Angeles
Unified School District is seeking applications from well-
qualified individuals for two positions. The successful
applicant will be expected to design, conduct, and manage
data collection efforts, perform statistical analyses, write
reports, and present findings.
The individual will perform these tasks for one of two
projects. The first concerns reading and language arts reform
within the district. This individual will have expertise in
early literacy development and/or elementary reading
instruction. The second project is pending-NSF funding and
will entail a detailed examination of math and science reform
within LAUSD. Both projects will require knowledge of a broad
range of research methods, including, but not limited to:
classroom observational techniques, survey writing and
administration, interview administration and standardized
test administration. Additionally, strong analytical skills
are required, whether they be qualitative or quantitative.
The annual salary is $56,277. This position is for one year
and is a temporary position. We anticipate opening one or
more permanent positions (with full benefits) during the next
twelve months. The hiring and examination process for the
permanent position will be separate, open, and competitive.
