The Johns Hopkins University, Center for Social Organization
of Schools seeks to fill two Ph.D. level positions within its
systemic supports for school reform program. Ongoing projects
include qualitative and mixed-method field studies of diverse
school reform efforts; longitudinal, quantitative analyses of
school district and related data sets; and secondary analyses
of complex data sets; all with the goal of improving the
quality of schooling for students most at risk of academic
failure. One position will be predominately qualitative and
the other predominately quantitative. Successful candidates
will be involved in the Center's ongoing programmatic
research at local and national levels, as well as developing
new projects. Qualifications include a doctorate in
education, sociology, psychology, or a related field,
evidence of promise / accomplishment in research and
evaluation, excellent writing and presentation skills, and a
strong commitment to the Center's mission of improving the
education of students placed at risk. Appointments could be
at the Associate Research Scientist or Research Scientist
rank, depending on experience. Review of applications will
