company based in Dover, NH (driving distance to Boston, the
White Mountains, and coasts of NH, ME and MA) seeks a
Psychometrician to join its Measurement, Design and Analysis
division.
Psychometricians are responsible for overseeing and
implementing psychometric procedures for educational testing
programs, assuring the veracity of data, analytical methods
and results, and independently designing, planning, and
completing research studies to support Measured Progress'
operational contracts and clients' needs. Additional
responsibilities include:
* Designing, overseeing, and/or carrying out classical and
IRT item analyses, equating studies, generalizability
studies, validity studies, sampling plans and special
statistical analyses, as needed
* Accurately analyzing, interpreting and clearly
communicating test results to state department of education
officials, school personnel, parents and students within
specified deadlines
* Providing educational workshops for state departments of
education and Measured Progress personnel
* Working with state officials to ensure the correct
implementation of educational testing programs
* Contributing to the writing of proposals
* Working with Curriculum and Assessment Specialists in
the development of tests and test items
* Maintaining an active research agenda related to the
psychometric properties of educational testing
Qualifications:
* A Ph.D. in educational statistics, measurement, or
psychometrics (required)
* A working knowledge of IRT applications, item
calibration, score equating, traditional and IRT-based
methods of item and test analysis (required)
* Familiarity with generalizability theory (desired)
* Experience with IRT software, (e.g., BIGSTEPS, BILOG,
FACETS, LOGIST, MULTILOG, etc.)
* Effective oral and written communication skills
