When I did my doctoral work, several people used Foucault as their major
philosopher to analyze social and educational policies and practices. I
used his work in a secondary supportive manner, but Jean-Francois Lyotard
was my major philosopher. I focused on his work and policy analysis and
developed a language games framework. It has always worked well for me.

I have not used Foucault for video analysis of classroom observations, but
did use his work to inspire analysis of interviews, documents, and field
observations (notes). See

Is it OK to ask a question like this?

We are studying classroom video recordings and would like to develop what
could be called a foucauldian framework here for analyses (or for instance
to Ian Hackings notions on looping when relating the works of Foucault and
Goffman). Is there anybody out there working on such issues?

All the best from Sweden,
