Dear Colleagues,

Hello again! As always, I hope that this e-mail correspondence finds
you well.

As you may have guessed by the subject of this e-mail, I am STILL
recruiting 2009 NAME (National Association for Multicultural
Education) Conference Proposal Reviewers!

PLEASE READ THIS WHOLE E-MAIL BEFORE YOUR RESPOND AND WHEN YOU
RESPOND, PLEASE RESPOND TO ME AT [log in to unmask] PLEASE DO NOT
RESPOND TO ANY LISTSERV--THANKS!

The review timeframe will be--with some flexibility on either end--
that proposals will be sent to you by late May/early June and would
need to be completed and returned to me by late June/early July.

You do not need to be a NAME member to be a reviewer, though it would
be great if you wanted to join NAME in the process of becoming a
reviewer!!!

It is okay to be a reviewer even if you have also submitted a proposal
for review (you will not be assigned your own proposal for review)

So--here's the pitch again:

1) Please let me know ASAP if you are willing to be a proposal
reviewer this year by replying to this e-mail (again, please wait to
finish reading the rest of this e-mail before replying).

In your reply, please send me ALL of your contact information (name,
professional affiliation, mailing address, phones, faxes, e-mails) so
that we can update the database. If NOTHING about your contact
information has changed in the last year please indicate that in your
reply.

Also, please indicate your interests and/or expertise with respect to
proposal review topic areas--for example, gender equity, achievement
gap, P-12 in general, disability access, gay rights, higher education
in general, and so forth.

2) Please let me know if you have friends and/or colleagues who would
be willing to serve as proposals reviewers this year. In addition to
serving NAME, this is a great thing for faculty types to put on the
vita for tenure and promotion! For non-faculty types, it can help you
meet KSA or similar job performance requirements. Remember, the more
reviewers we have, the fewer proposals we each have to review.

Have your eager associates send me an e-mail with ALL of their contact
information as well (again, name, professional affiliation, mailing
address, phones, faxes, e-mails).

And again, please have colleagues indicate their interests and/or
expertise with respect to proposal review topic areas.

That's it for the moment. I look forward to working with you in this
process this year.

AND, ONCE AGAIN, WHEN YOU RESPOND, PLEASE RESPOND TO ME AT [log in to unmask]
. PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND TO THIS LISTSERV--THANKS!

Regards,

Christine, 2009 Proposal Review Chair

"What are the standards that we have? If we're concerned about
unarmed truth--understanding this condition of truth is allowing
suffering to speak--and unconditional love--understanding justice is
what love looks like in public--then the question is, what suffering
voices do we hear...and what kinds of concerns about justice are made
manifest...?
