Paulo Freire SIG

 

Call for Proposals

 

 

 

Deadline: August 1, 2008

 

 

 

Radical intellectuals, community activists, critical pedagogues, and

Other individuals committed to social justice are sought to submit
proposals to the

AERA Paulo Freire SIG.  A great opportunity exists!  We are accepting

two to three proposals per individual/group.  

 

 

Proposals should focus on scholarship that applies, extends, critiques,
and

reinvents Freirean pedagogy.  They may also examine historical
scholarship

that examines the life of Paulo Freire and the situatedness of his

praxis.  Proposals may also address new forms of critical pedagogy that

build on the foundation established by Paulo Freire.

 

 

On the 2009 AERA program, we are honored to already have a commitment
from Sandy Grande, Sonia Nieto and Christine Sleeter to participate in
an interactive "problem-posing"

panel with session attendees. Your participation as chair and/or
discussant enriches and diversifies the sessions. We solicit your active
participation in this SIG in these roles and as a reviewer. Submit all
proposals and intentions to volunteer through the AERA web page
www.aera.net <http://www.aera.net/>  under Submissions and/or Volunteer
Opportunities.

 

We look forward to engaging dialogically with you as you share your

ideas about how Paulo Freire's work is being reinvented in your
communities.
