Dear colleagues,

I wanted to inform you about an upcoming education meeting that the
Mind and Life Institute is hosting with the Dalai Lama and leading
educators on October 8-9, 2009 in Constitution Hall in Washington DC.

The meeting, entitled "Educating World Citizens for the 21st Century:
Educators, Scientists and Contemplatives Dialogue on Cultivating a
Healthy Mind, Brain, and Heart? aims to shed new light on the kind of
education we need in the 21st century through the format of
interdisciplinary dialogue.

Our aim through such dialogues is to forge creative new connections
between contemporary views in education, human development and
neuroscience, and sources of wisdom and practice with regard to
education and development in the world?s contemplative traditions of
the world. Another aim is to spur new interdisciplinary projects
involving research and "field experiments" out in the world of schools.

We have not yet released the information about this event to the
general public because we wanted to invite colleagues like you, and
any of your friends and colleagues who might be interested, whom we
would most like to see at the event.

Here is the link to the event site if you wish to learn more:
