Dear Colleagues,

It was great to see you all at AERA this year!  Thank you so much for your support to the Paulo Freire SIG! We truly appreciate your membership.  We have begun planning for next year and are letting you know that you must submit your proposal(s) from June first to July 15th this year.  Also, it is most important that you renew your membership with the Paulo Freire SIG and please invite others to join.  Without your membership we cannot grow and expand within the AERA Organization and we will have more sessions.

Call for proposal from our Program chairs:

It was great to have seen so many of you at the Paulo Freire SIG during AERA!  We look forward to working with you this year and learn about your academic work and community activism.  Erika Mein and I (Vivian López) will be interested to learn what your ideas are to re-invent the Paulo Freire SIG's program.  We invite your suggestions and ideas.  You may reach us at:

IMPORTANT: We have an important notice that pertains to earlier deadlines for proposals:  Please note, Submission deadline advanced by 2 weeks. The deadline for proposal submissions will be advanced 2 weeks earlier to July 15 this year, you can start submission on June 1.  According to AERA, this deadline will allow for an earlier release of the program and information about the Annual Meeting.

During June 1st to July 15th, proposals with themes related to Paulo Freire concepts, Indigenous, Feminists, Marxist, Neo-Marxist, Perspectives, Social Justice, Equity, Revolutionary Pedagogy, Critical Pedagogy, Critical Race, Critical Environmental Studies, Transformative Praxis, and others will be accepted.  Please go to the AERA website to submit your proposal.
