Hello Graduate Students,
Last year, the winners of the Outstanding Contribution to Practice in Cognition and Assessment Award of the Cognition and Assessment SIG generously donated the $500 award back to the SIG with one request: that the money be used for graduate students. We have decided to use this money in the form a Graduate Student Travel Scholarship. From the submitted research proposals, we will select five graduate students who will receive $100 awards to assist in their travels to AERA 2015 (April 16-20, Chicago, IL).
Those graduate students will be asked to provide a short verbal overview of their research during the SIG’s business meeting at the annual meeting. Research proposals will be evaluated with respect to relevance to the SIG, educational significance, and novelty/originality. The business meeting is a great opportunity to share and present research, to converse with experts, and meet potential collaborators!
If you are interested in the award and presentation opportunity, please submit a short one-page summary of your research to Matthew Madison at ([log in to unmask]) by Sunday, December 14, 2014 at 11:59 pm. It should include the title of your research work, the research question(s) you investigated, the methodology you chose, your findings (if there are any yet), the implications for the field and/or practice, and why you think your work would be relevant to members of the Cognition and Assessment SIG. On the top of the page please also include your name, affiliation, contact information, program of study, and year in program.
We look forward to receiving your submissions!
Sincerely,
Matthew Madison
